Meet Our Specialist Team at Sunshine Coast Equine Hospital

We’re thrilled to introduce the specialist team leading veterinary care at the Sunshine Coast Equine Hospital — a passionate, highly skilled group dedicated to providing the very best for horses across Queensland and beyond.

Dr Tias Muurlink – Specialist Equine Surgeon

BVSc (Hons), FANZCVS (Equine Surgery)

Dr Tias Muurlink brings a wealth of experience to the Sunshine Coast Equine Hospital as our specialist equine surgeon and Clinical Director.

Tias has spent his entire career devoted to horses — from founding and growing one of Queensland’s leading regional practices to leading the Equine Centre at the University of Melbourne Veterinary Hospital. He’s worked across Australia and internationally, gaining extensive experience in surgery, lameness, and complex equine care.

Tias is known not only for his surgical skill but also for his commitment to mentoring other vets and supporting the equine community. His wide-ranging expertise covers surgery, lameness, and stud medicine — and he’s excited to bring this depth of knowledge to the Sunshine Coast as our hospital comes to life.

Dr Bridget Nottle – Specialist Equine Surgeon

BVSc (Hons), Diplomate ACVS (Large Animal Surgery)

We’re also excited to welcome Dr Bridget Nottle, an equine surgeon with advanced training in emergency surgery, orthopaedics, and critical care.

Bridget completed her surgical residency at the University of California, Davis — one of the world’s top veterinary teaching hospitals — and went on to work in some of the best equine hospitals in the United States. Most recently, she was the service chief of equine emergency surgery and critical care at Colorado State University.

Her expertise spans complex colic surgery, airway and orthopaedic procedures, and post-operative care. Passionate about equine welfare and recovery, Bridget is also a dedicated endurance rider who has represented Australia internationally.

Outside of surgery, she enjoys travel, outdoor adventures, and time with her saluki dogs.

Dr Brianna Clark – Specialist in Equine Internal Medicine

BVSc (Hons), MANZCVS (Medicine of Horses), Diplomate ACVIM (Large Animal Internal Medicine), DVClinSc

Originally from Far North Queensland, Dr Brianna Clark is an equine internal medicine specialist with a passion for solving complex medical puzzles.

After starting her career in mixed practice close to home, Brianna’s curiosity and dedication took her to Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital and then to the University of Queensland, where she completed her residency and professional doctorate. Her research explored the genetic and environmental factors that influence insulin dysregulation and equine metabolic syndrome in ponies.

Brianna has recently worked at Scone Equine Hospital, one of Australia’s busiest referral centres, managing everything from colics and foals to poor performance and endocrine disorders. She’s known for her calm approach, sharp diagnostic mind, and genuine care for horses and their owners.

Outside of work, Brianna loves spending time outdoors with her young family, hiking, baking, and experimenting with sourdough.

Together, Tias, Brianna, and Bridget bring decades of combined experience, international training, and a shared dedication to excellence in equine care.

Their collaboration at the Sunshine Coast Equine Hospital marks an exciting new chapter for horse owners and veterinarians across the region — combining world-class expertise with the warmth, compassion, and teamwork that define our hospital’s values.

Stay tuned as we prepare to open our doors in 2026 — and follow along for more updates about the team, our facilities, and what’s to come!
