Main Building

The main building of the hospital will feature a surgery suite with two theatres enabling us to offer a range of elective procedures as well as emergency surgery.

In this building is also a procedural room for standing surgery, additional imaging room for x-ray, ultrasound and two examination areas.

Three intensive care stalls round out the facilities in our main building enabling the close monitoring of critical care patients.

Isolation Unit

Our isolation unit will ensure patients can be safely separated from others ensuring the health and wellbeing of all horses on site. The unit is equipped with four individual stalls each with a treatment preparation space as well as a central examination area.

Lameness Facilities

Along with our examination areas and x-ray/ultrasound spaces within the main building, we will have a designated trot-up area to ensure comprehensive lameness assessments can be performed. We round off our spaces for lameness patients with a dedicated podiatry space.

SCEH Stable Block Render

Stable Block

Our stable will be equipped with rubber flooring and cameras to ensure that we can see our patients no matter where we are in the hospital. They will include larger stalls for mares and foals or larger horse breeds with sliding partitions so neighbours can be blocked off if needed or they can be opened if companionship is preferred.

Additional Facilities

We will have loading/unloading facilities to ensure that our patients can be admitted and discharged in a safe and calm space.
Our holding yards will also ensure that they will have a place to settle and relax prior and during their examinations.
