The Sunshine Coast Equine Hospital is opening in 2026 – a purpose-built, specialist-level equine facility designed to deliver excellence in veterinary care. We’re building more than a hospital; we’re creating a workplace culture founded on compassion, teamwork, honesty, and excellence.
We are seeking experienced and motivated Equine Veterinary Nurses / Technicians to join our foundation team and help shape the future of equine healthcare on the Sunshine Coast.
The Role
As a valued member of our team, you will:
Assist with medical and surgical procedures, including anaesthesia, recovery, and patient monitoring.
Provide high-quality nursing care for in-patients and out-patients.
Handle horses confidently and safely across a variety of clinical situations.
Support veterinarians during emergencies, ensuring calm and effective responses.
Communicate clearly with clients, offering guidance on at-home care and follow-up treatment.
Work collaboratively with a dedicated team of veterinarians, nurses, and support staff.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications: Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, Bachelor of Veterinary Technology, or equivalent.
Experience: Demonstrated experience in equine veterinary practice and/or within the equine industry.
Skills & Traits:
Compassionate and empathetic in patient and client care.
Confident in handling horses of all temperaments.
Organised with strong time management and attention to detail.
Adaptable, proactive, and eager to grow professionally.
A true team player with excellent communication skills.
