The Sunshine Coast Equine Hospital is opening in 2026 – a purpose-built, specialist-level equine facility designed to deliver excellence in veterinary care. We’re building more than a hospital; we’re creating a workplace culture founded on compassion, teamwork, honesty, and excellence.

We are seeking experienced and motivated Equine Veterinary Nurses / Technicians to join our foundation team and help shape the future of equine healthcare on the Sunshine Coast.


The Role

As a valued member of our team, you will:

  • Assist with medical and surgical procedures, including anaesthesia, recovery, and patient monitoring.

  • Provide high-quality nursing care for in-patients and out-patients.

  • Handle horses confidently and safely across a variety of clinical situations.

  • Support veterinarians during emergencies, ensuring calm and effective responses.

  • Communicate clearly with clients, offering guidance on at-home care and follow-up treatment.

  • Work collaboratively with a dedicated team of veterinarians, nurses, and support staff.


What We’re Looking For

Qualifications: Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, Bachelor of Veterinary Technology, or equivalent.

Experience: Demonstrated experience in equine veterinary practice and/or within the equine industry.

Skills & Traits:

  • Compassionate and empathetic in patient and client care.

  • Confident in handling horses of all temperaments.

  • Organised with strong time management and attention to detail.

  • Adaptable, proactive, and eager to grow professionally.

  • A true team player with excellent communication skills.
